Only four days until the Capitals start their preseason, and still no television schedule for either the Caps web page or on ComcastSportsNet.com. It was about this time last year that the schedule was released. Comcast seemed willing to work out to put all 82 games on their schedule between several stations. So hopefully something will be worked out soon.
The Caps take today off after their first practice at palatial practice facility at Ashburn Friday. All Capitals were present and accounted for, Alexander Semin included. In a rash move to beef up the blue line, Caps signed John Erskin.
Practice starts again Sunday morning around 10 am. The Caps will be playing 2 preseason games this week, the first on Wednesday versus Tampa Bay, the next against the Penguins (Ovechkin vs. Malkin) on Friday.

I don't know that signing Erskine was necessarily rash - I don't really know anything about him other than the fact that he can fight, but I think adding elements of toughness will help protect guys like Semin and Zednik that maybe aren't power forwards in the mold of Ovechkin...just a thought. I like your blog, though!
